Orphanhood

A phone call wakes physicist Artem Khachatryan from a dream: strange characters foreshadow a nearing of something ominous. Artem answers to sad news; the funding for his research and life's work is being pulled. In an act of desperation, he sends a human-made cosmic ray into the universe, in hopes of inspiring a break-though and reigniting interest in his institute. The ray accidentally disturbs a black hole and creates a pathway between the black hole and Earth's atmosphere. Soon after, the strange characters from his dream suddenly appear in Artem's waking life.
